Beautiful, healthy, clean, fair and durable products
From the meeting of Slow Food Italia and 22 Italian companies in the textile supply chain, a project was born that aims to represent a positive change thanks to the change in production processes.
Just as Slow Food, more than thirty years ago, chose to take the other side of fast food, Slow Fiber wants to be the answer to the rampant trend of fast fashion.
The textile sector is now the fourth most polluting in Europe, as well as being among the three worst in terms of water abuse and among the top five for greenhouse gas emissions. Some studies have also found that 11 kg of textile waste is thrown away every year for each person.
There is an increasingly urgent and fundamental need to transform the production processes and methods of consumption of the planet’s resources, respecting the dignity of living beings and nature, spreading among all its inhabitants a new ethic and culture of clothing and to furnish.
CM tessuti wants to propose a new awareness
The common idea of Slow Food and Slow Fiber is to recover awareness and knowledge of how products are made, working to ensure that there is a change of direction towards the sustainability of the environment and people.
